August MPMI Editor's Pick
In the August issue of MPMI, Colburn-Clifford and Allen utilized in vivo expression technology (IVET) to identify tomato root exudate expressed (REX) genes in the pathogen Ralstonia solancearum. Among the genes identified was a cbb3-type cytochrome c oxidase, which was essential for full virulence and in planta growth of the pathogen. This report provides another good demonstration of the importance of plant-microbe signalings.

MPMI Impact Factor Rises Again!
In the recently released 2009 ISI Impact Factors, MPMI’s one-year impact factor saw an increase of nearly 6.6% to 4.407. The journal’s five-year impact factor made an impressive increase of over 12.5% to 4.844. Become a part of the success story, publish in MPMI
